What is widget?

A widget is an element of a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays information or provides a specific way for a user to interact with the operating system or an application. In a nutshell, it's a code snippet that can be embedded everywhere.

How to create widget?

When you log in into StorifyMe, in the header menu, you will see a card named Widgets. There you can customize how the stories will be displayed to your customers and customize overall look of the stories section on your page.

Creating a new widget is quite simple, and you can create as many widgets as you want with different look and feel.

1. To create one, click Create widget from the center or right part of the page. When you choose to create widget you need to fill out short form based on your preferences and widget will be created automatically, without any coding. ⬇️

We'll explain each of the steps in the next.

  1. Name is the headline that will stay at the top of the widget. In the example below name is "Storify-Stories that convert"

  2. Type -  We offer two different types of stories preview Carousel Square and Carousel Circle. Carousel Square show story thumbnails in a square (similar to Facebook stories) and Carousel Circle in circles (similar to Instagram stories). In the example below, we picked Square type

  3. Widget title is text that is displayed below Name. You can choose to show text or to leave only name. In the example below it is listed as "Love tapping? Then you will adore our stories" Tip: This section can be used to attract customers to watch your stories so you can get them in the loop for making a purchase at the end.

  4. Stories Modal - Modal plugin is a dialog box/popup window that will be displayed on top of the current page. If you choose to opt out of modal, your stories will be displayed in a new page.

  5. Tags provide details about an story and make it easy to locate related items that have the same tag. In example, you can choose to show only stories with tags that are currently relevant to your offer, and not show the ones with products that are out of stock or similar.
